What connectivity do you provide for a film or TV production?
Made By WiFi provides fully managed wireless network deployments for temporary film and TV productions. This includes a dedicated internet connection coordinated with the location or provided via Starlink where fixed infrastructure is unavailable, separate network segments for different departments including production, camera team, talent areas, and any other user groups, wired ethernet drops for equipment that requires hardline connections, and on-site presence with real-time monitoring for the full duration of the shoot.
Can you provide connectivity for location shoots with no fixed internet infrastructure?
Yes. For location shoots in parks, streets, unconventional venues, or any space without fixed broadband, Made By WiFi deploys Starlink satellite internet as the primary connection. Starlink is particularly effective for location shoots because it does not depend on any local ground infrastructure and can deliver consistent high-speed internet in almost any location. For smaller crews or as a backup option, 5G Hotspot Kits are also available.
Can you support a production that runs for several weeks?
Yes. Made By WiFi provides connectivity for the full duration of any production, however long it runs. The network is deployed before the first shooting day and remains in place, monitored and supported, until the final day of the shoot. If the schedule changes or additional days are added, we accommodate the adjustment.
How do you keep production content secure on the network?
Every production network we deploy uses VLAN segmentation that isolates different user groups from each other. Production systems, camera team networks, talent WiFi, and any visitor or contractor access are all kept on separate segments, preventing unauthorised access between them. The physical security of the network hardware is also planned as part of every deployment, ensuring that the infrastructure is not accessible to unauthorised personnel on set.
Can you provide WiFi for cast and talent areas as well as the crew?
Yes. We provide connectivity for the full set, including cast dressing rooms, holding areas, and any other talent spaces. Separate network segments for talent and crew ensure that production systems are not affected by general cast connectivity, and that the experience on both sides is reliable and uninterrupted.
Can you support remote direction and real-time monitoring of footage?
Yes. Remote direction and live monitoring of footage require dedicated, high-quality bandwidth that is not shared with general production traffic. We configure dedicated connections for these workflows, ensuring that remote directors, producers, and clients can monitor footage in real time without competing with other production network traffic.
Do you serve productions outside New York and New Jersey?
Our fully managed production WiFi service is available in New York and New Jersey, where our team can be physically present for the duration of the shoot. For productions outside the area, our 5G Hotspot Kits are available nationwide as a self-install option with remote support from our team. We always assess whether the kit is the right solution for the specific production before recommending it.
How much does production WiFi cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the crew, the duration of the shoot, the location, the connectivity demands of the production workflow, and whether Starlink or a fixed connection is required. Get in touch with details about your production and we will provide a tailored quote.
